Mother And Child 2016

MotherAndChildThis Fingerpainting was done for a dear friend to honor motherhood. She was joined by her closest friends and family, who all took part in the painting. The emotion in the room translated into the burst of color that frames the figures. The whites of the wings is done in iridescent paint that adds to the ethereal feeling of the piece.

The skin-tones of the mother and child were painted ahead of time, but everything else (including the hair) was done with fingerpainting. There were no touch-ups or details added after I painted with the last participant. The names in calligraphy around the edges were the only finishing touch.
