Amy Parks is a Louisville native who has always had a passion for all things artistic.
She attended the University of Louisville on a full art scholarship, and has worked as a freelance artist and designer since 2001. She has done custom art works in oil and acrylic for individual clients, as well as for local salons, real estate offices, Kentucky Shakespeare, and Tracey Mitchell Interiors.
Amy attends church at St. Matthews Baptist and it was there that she discovered a whole new realm of art in face painting. In 2012, Kid Canvas Face Painting was born, and is still the leader in face painting for Kentuckiana.
In 2014, Amy was asked to produce a piece of artwork to be auctioned by her daughter’s class. The piece needed to be eye catching and allow each student to participate. Fingerprints seemed like the natural choice for a second grade class. Amy chose the Louisville Skyline as the image, and gave each child their own color so that they could identify their part in the creation of the piece. The word spread like wildfire and two more pieces were requested for the same auction!
As with the face painting, Amy feels like this endeavor ‘found her’! It didn’t take long before other schools were asking for her to paint pieces for their auctions as well.
She quickly realized that this would be a fantastic way to commemorate any occasion. Birthdays, graduations, wedding or baby showers, the sky’s the limit! Best of all? There are no age limits, and you are left with a one-of-a-kind piece of art that’s ready to hang!
“This isn’t just a craft, it’s an experience that creates custom artwork! You’ll be amazed what we can create together! “
As with all of her artistic endeavors, Amy strives to maintain both professionalism and a high quality of work.
She uses high quality gallery wrapped canvases and acrylic paints.
